A decision guide, not a universal best-of list

OMIYAGE helps English-speaking travelers choose Japanese souvenirs by the decision they actually face: who the gift is for, where they are shopping, how it will travel, whether it needs refrigeration, what the package contains, and what rules apply at the destination.

Changing facts need sources and dates

Product lineups, sale periods, store availability, transport rules, and customs guidance can change. When an article relies on those facts, we prefer official makers, retailers, tourism authorities, transport operators, or government sources and state the relevant date or limit. We do not turn a one-time observation into a permanent popularity claim.

Firsthand claims are article-specific

OMIYAGE does not assume every guide is a personal review. If an article says a product was purchased, tasted, photographed, or field-tested by OMIYAGE, that experience should be documented for that article. Otherwise the page is an editorial buying guide built from checkable information.

How we earn

Some pages may contain affiliate links or advertising. Commercial relationships do not buy a ranking or change the factual criteria used in a guide. See the affiliate disclosure.
